“Celebrate Change” limited edition print released
Posted by angeliexists on November 3, 2008
I’ve released a limited edition print for the Obama Election Night Rally in Grant Park on Craigslist and Etsy. Apart from an early computer disaster, I’ve enjoyed working on this project. We wish you guys could be here for this. Ed and I have secured tickets, and we’re looking forward to being there in the cold chaos.
My sales post is after the jump.

Limited Edition Print “Celebrate Change” for the Obama Rally in Grant Park on election day. Whether or not you have tickets to the event, you can order the poster to commemorate this important occasion.
Artist’s Statement:
“This election means a lot to me personally. It means a new era of campaigning, foreign and domestic policy. For better, or for worse, the Obama campaign has showed us a new level of youth awareness and electronic culture, solid planning and organization, grass roots movement, and style. His campaign ushers in an awareness of the power each of us has in determining what we want our country to be and how we want to achieve it.
I believe that Obama means hope, intelligence, empowerment, dignity, fairness, and an all-inclusive policy toward the people of this nation.
I am a native of Chicago. This city means a lot to me, and I’m thrilled that not only will Obama spend that important night here, but he’ll be spending it with his supporters. Although tickets couldn’t be given to everyone, the scale of this event is still unprecedented.
I wanted this to be a symbol of his election night event in Chicago for a few reasons. This is the night it’s all decided. This poster links the familiar imagery of Chicago with Obama. It continues his positive messages of “change” and “yes we can!” The coloring is based on the Chicago nights I know. The dark blue glows with orange and yellow city lights. Eight presidential stars in the sky are for a hopeful eight years and the undeniable change that will go beyond his presidency.”

Nine sales already! How was the night? We watched the election at a fellow expatriate’s house and had a nice time. We need to have a longer conversation about events during the last week soon.

I capped out at 22 or so sales between Etsy and Craigslist. The night was great, but really claustrophobic.
I hope to get some pictures posted. I’ll have more details on our call (which I am looking forward to).
